Windsor, Canada is a very beautiful and fun place to make a weekend trip to. They have one of the best casinos in the surrounding area called Casino Windsor. It is located right on the Detroit River approximately five minutes from the Ambassador Bridge which takes you from America to Canada. Windsor is also home to the Canadian Club Whiskey distillery and they have a gift shop as well as tours of the old offices of the distillery. Willistead Manor is another beautiful place to visit in the day. Willistead Manor was the form home of the Walker family which was prior owners of Canadian Club. When Hiram Walker passed away Mrs. Walker decided to donate the manor to the city. You can now take tours of it and the art gallery inside. The public grounds around it also serve as a nice park to take a morning stroll in.

There are many hotels in Windsor which also are walking distance away from the Casino and local bars. Casino Windsor Hotel, Travelodge, Hilton Windsor, Radisson Riverfront Hotel, and the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Suites are just a quick sample of the lodging in the area. I have stayed at the Casino Hotel many times, and the service and convenience of staying right above the casino is wonderful.
