Elementary school students everywhere, at one point or another, have to do a science project. After the projects are completed the school's display the work of the students for all to see. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that little Johnny First Grader didn't come up with his intricate projec
t all by himself. Parents across America help their children when it comes to doing Science projects. It's almost expected.

I take a little different approach on this. We don't do anything extravagant, like build robots or create what could become the cure for the common cold, but we do search the internet for ideas. We find things that my children can complete on their own, with a little help from mom and dad and they are responsible for the work that is involved with completing the task. If they need assistance all they need to do is ask.

My kids will never come away with the most awe inspiring project, and that's o.k. with them and with me. My kids will, however, complete the project themselves, and hopefully learn something along the way.

If you are looking for some ideas for a project for your upcoming science project, the internet is chock full of them. Some of them require extreme detail and others will require a huge amount of time. I have come up with a couple of ideas that are simple, fun and interesting. Your child may not win the blue ribbon by completing one of these ideas, but they will be able to do the project themselves and they will learn from the results.
