The Dangers of Pasteurized, Homogenized Milk

Would You Eat a Cow Pie?

I grew up in the country with a cow farm just down the street so we always had farm fresh milk, straight from the cow. I was a healthy child and have never had a broken bone in my life. Yet, a 12-year Harvard study of 80,000 nurses showed that a high intake of commercial milk appeared to
actually increase the risk of bone fractures.

Other studies have shown mounting evidence that milk may play a role in a variety of health problems, including prostate cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, anemia, MS, leukemia and ovarian cancer.

This stuff the dairy industry is passing off as milk, claiming it gives you strong bones, is not good for you. According to Dr. Spreen of the Health Science Institute, in his opinion, pasteurized, homogenized milk does not even qualify as food.

Dr. Spreen claims the homogenization process breaks up and destroys enzymes through its heating process. He says the enzyme xanthine oxidase, in it's altered state, can enter the bloodstream and react against arterial walls, causing the body to protect the area with a layer of cholesterol. This is serious! What is the milk industry trying to do to us?

According to Dr. Spreen the skimming process makes the remaining nutrients more difficult to absorb. He adds, "The calcium is better absorbed in the presence of milk fat (though the high amount of fat in whole milk is for very-fast-growing baby cows, not baby people)."

This is not the first time I have heard that. Some professionals have gone so far as to say only babies need milk and once adulthood is achieved you no longer need milk, but in any case, it is raw milk that offers the nutritional qualities needed.

Cultured products (kefir, yogurt) and enzymatically-altered products (cheese, etc.) are acceptable in moderation. Several reasons why highly processed milk is unhealthy include:

Seems to me that milk starts out healthy but homogenisation allows the xanthine oxidase (XO) to pass into the bloodstream and attack the arteries. That is where all the problens start. HERE'S A TIP - buy 1 litre of skimmed milk and add 100 ml of double cream (to bring the butterfat content back to 4%) - tastes like real milk and it doesn't kill you.

so people still think dairy is good for them? is that why they're obese, have high cholesterol and their blood chemistry is that of a piece of paper? heh, figures. oh yes, god bless MILK! lmfao! it has vitamins and minerals.. that of DUST!

If you were to actually take in every drop that Dr. Spreen of the Health Science Institute has to say, the audience has to understand that it was expressed as "his opinion". Like members of the public, we have our own opinions too, BUT the fact is whether it is EVIDENCE-BASED or not. People often go to the internet for answers to questions, whether related to health or not. There are a lot of illigitimate articles out there. Ex. Wikipedia- where the public may edit or change the definition or things said under a topic. Just because someone got sick from "raw milk" or not may not be the JUST BECAUSE of the milk. EVERYONE RESPONDS DIFFERENTLY TO EVERYTHING. At the time, maybe they had unknowingly acquired food poisoning, or were taking an immunosuppressive medication after their transplant surgery, etc. Someone's immune system maybe be more competent to some things than others. When the public are to look at studies, there are things to consider as to whether this study was le

Thank you all for your comments! Everyone has a right to his/her own opinion, and freedom of speech. People should make informed decisions by researching both sides of any issue thoroughly and examining the information for themselves. There is no reason to fight or argue, if we were all alike or thought the same way it would be a pretty boring world. Have a nice day! Thanks for reading my articles!

Ah, a neophyte has thrown down the gauntlet! Please do your homework better if you wish to refute my remarks. I DID say the disease was caused by infected cheese and the CDC said it was made from RAW milk, not pasturized milk that was later contaminated. I have no problem with people drinking raw milk if they want to, I grew up on it. Milk produced in the United States is probably the most pure unadulterated farm product you can buy due to close scrutiny by multiple regulatory agencies. Anyone who has spent almost 50 years working with the dairy industry like I have would realize that. My blood pressure goes up when people make unsubstantiated claims criticizing processed milk and give outrageous attributes to raw milk that have never been scientifically proven. You want to drink raw milk, great, get yourself a cow, but don't sell the milk to someone else because if they get sick from it you are at fault. And do more research before you comment. I want a more educated opponent

Drinking pasturized milk is a choice. If the government feels its dangerous put a warning lable on it - just like smoking and certain medications. I'm pretty sure if unpasturized milk was as bad as they said it would have shown up big time in small farming communities. In regards to the rant of mythbusters about the 12 people maybe you may want to tell the rest of the story. It was not just unpasturized milk but mexican cheese consumed by migrant workers in Winston_salem. Somebody made something and it could have been made from pasturized milk and later contaminated. Healthy cows give healthy milk, drugged up, hormone ladened cows give bad milk.

In 2000 & 2001 12 adults in North Carolina were infected with Listeria monocytogenes linked to cheese made from raw milk. Ten of the victims were pregnant women, and the infection with the bacterium resulted in five stillbirths, three premature deliveries, and two infected newborns. People like you who promote unsafe and unhealthy lifestyle decisions should be prosecuted for the murder of those unborn children. Your article is full of misinformation and unsubstantiated allegations. Even the scientist you quoted is only giving an 'opinion' with no basis in fact. ("According to Dr. Spreen of the Health Science Institute, in his opinion.....") It is your right in our society to be stupid and refuse to believe proven scientific data however when you promote ideas that are dangerous to other people you should be held accountable for the results. Conspirisy nuts like you who believe everything scientists or the government says is a lie baffle me. Why not look at the real facts?

The Dairy Industry is big fat sucker for letting so many people consume disgusting, hormone, diseased milk. Soy milk not only tastes better but soy has a secret and is proven to be very healthy actually. Thats why so many people in China live long, they consume alot of Soy
