Apple Works Ochard and Farm= a Perfect Fall Getaway

One of our favorite fall places to go in Apple Works Orchard and Farm Market in Trafalgar, Indiana. Located just a short distance from the rolling hills of Brown County, Apple Works is a trip to a place that is far from the hurried pace that we live in our daily lives. Whether you are going to purchase a bag of apples, visit their Highlander Festival, or enjoy some of their fun family activities, Apple Works is well worth the trip. Apple Works is the perfect place for a fall getaway.

Located in Southern Johnson County, Indiana, Apple Works is open from mid-April through December 23 each year and their hours are 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. 7 days per week. They are located at 8157 South 250 West Trafalgar, Indiana. Apple Works is available for school field trips and they provide an educational tour presented by retired teachers along with a snack and a wagon ride to pick either an apple or a pumpkin. The orchard also is open for weddings and they offer an island gazebo and cathedral style shelter house for the special day.

One of our favorite parts of the orchard is Old McDonald's Farm. The kids enjoy seeing the calf, climbing goats, and the llamas as well as the many other animals that are available to be touched and played with. Another great aspect is the Baffling Bamboo Maze, which is a mathematically challenged maze that they whole family can enjoy.

Another great way for the kids to use some of their energy is Straw Mountain. At Straw Mountain, they can climb through the tunnels and enjoy the fun of hiding and playing. There is also a Super Slide and the Trike Track for the kids to enjoy. Some of the other family fun things to do are the Apple Works Sluice, where the family can pan for gemstones and everyone will want to ride The Apple Express and see all of the activities of AppleVille while chatting with the engineer, Cookie.
