What They ClaimIn nice or harsh weather, if you are yearning for something warm or cold, then the place to go is the Black Duck. The Black Duck was named after a boat that sailed the seas and brings the term "seafood" to a completely new level. When you walk in, the first thing that you see is the massive fireplace in the front lounge, which is the perfect seating in stormy or fair weather. The background music sails throughout the 75-seat room, playing Jazz on Fridays.
If you like the atmosphere of the place, then you'll be blown away by the tasty food that is well priced. Seafood is the main course in this restaurant, where clams find their way into a bowl of steaming soup. If you want to try something different, salad is served with a flair of cheese and other accompaniments. The food will melt in you mouth as you bite down into each piece of food. This restaurant brings a warm atmosphere in both areas of importance: food and environment.
What We Say
"It sounds too good to be true" is a saying that goes with a lot of restaurants, but this one is true. The Black Duck is a wonderful restaurant where people of all origins can come and relax. There is an upscale feeling to this restaurant with the crisp white tablecloths but also one of relaxation that is created by the cozy fireplace. It's a good restaurant to go to both in the winter and summer with the soup to warm you up and the salad to cool you down.
The food is just as amazing as the restaurant. The clam soup slides down your throat so smoothly that when it's no longer in the bowl, you are yearning for more. The waiters try to help your every need, even if they are slightly over-helpful, but they do their best to make your experience one that you will never forget and want to come back. The dessert was the only thing that seemed a little out of place, and maybe should be changed to suit the customer's desires.
Quick Tip
If you really like the fireplace feeling when you are eating be sure to call ahead and make reservations to make sure you get the seating that you desire.
Also, to make sure that you get the best deal go to the restaurant between 5:30 and 8:30 during their discount time.
