No matter what your body type is, a comfortable sweater is to be had that flatters your figure. Most colors will do but pinks and reds will complement almost all complexions and skin tones. Fitted sweaters are more flattering than bulkier varieties.

To shrink your silhouette, wear your sweaters and shirts untucked.

If you have bulky shoulders, shop for styles that wrap around the front that allow you to cinch the waist. Stripes are okay-horizontal, uniform stripes even better. Stay away from boatneck sweaters which will make your shoulders look even wider.

For big busts, try to minimize your breasts without hiding behind a sweater. V-necks will flatter hourglass figures. Fitted waistbands will nip in your waist and give you some shape. Stay away from scoop neck sweaters; these will make you look even curvier.

Long torsos make may your legs look too short. The cut-away sweater is slightly flared and cropped so your legs will look longer. Take focus away from your waist with eye-catching details near your neckline like broaches or embroidery.

If you have a short waist, short sweaters may make you feel wider than you are. Give your torso an elongated appearance with vertical patterns like stripe or snowflake designs. Ripped fabrics will make you look taller than smooth ones. Turtlenecks will extend the neckline and help balance your proportions.

Belly busters need sweaters that aren't too clingy. Choose twinsets and wear it open for the most slimming look. A "trick" twinset is just a piece of fabric sewn into the front of a cardigan so it cuts down on the bulk. Get cardigans that sit just below the hips.
