If you have been looking at free web hosting in the recent past, you may be disappointed with the "free hosting" sites features and limitations. Have you taken a look at Tripod? It is one of the two webhosting domains that are offered by lycos.com. Angelfire is the other. Angelfire is difficult to use and I will admit. I never have been able to actually build a site on angelfire because the function is so unwieldy and difficult to understand. However, Tripod is cut from a completely different cloth. Tripod offers a free site building tool called Sitebuilder. There is absolutely no need to learn HTML or any other programming language to use Sitebuilder. It very simply allows you to add whatever you like to your site with the click of any of the simple icons along the bottom of your screen. They have Four levels of subscription the first is free, and is advertisement driven, which means that they insert code for Google and other Search engines advertising blurbs at both the top and the bottom of your website in order to help them defray the cost of hosting your site for free. Depending on the type and level of sophistication of your website building skills Sitebuilder will be more than adequate for your needs. You can edit your site in simple to use text and link boxes in both HTML or in plain text. You can insert HTML links from advertisers or affiliate programs,. As well as allowing you to place ad cdes from your own advertiser networks if you so choose, It would have to be an ad manager that is not Google if you are going to do this though since you cannot mount two sets of Google advertiser linkson the same page, and even if you could they would most likely display the exact same links and ads as they meta tag your site content in order to provide links to similar topics, goods, and services to those which you have on your page.
