Facts About the Bible and Religion

What Holes Lie in Faith?

I'm a fan of more controversial fare in my reading, and as such, I have a tendency to want to write those articles. I have mostly shied away from those articles, since I am still fairly new to Associated Content, but have now decided to take a bold step off the ledge and share some
highlights, a Cliff's Note version, if you will, on some facts of the Bible and religion. But where to start, that is the real question.

How about evolution, or Christians' lack to accept? These Christians who put their faith and belief in things that have never, and will never, be proven, are in complete denial about the hard, scientific proof of Darwin's Theory of Evolution. I find that to be both hilarious and sad, at the same time.

Speaking of no proof of religion, wouldn't there be some sort of physical evidence of any of the stories from the Bible? Yeah, people claim that a piece of Noah's Ark, or some other religious artifacts from the Bible, have been found, but have these pieces of Bible history ever really been scientifically proven to be from the same era they claim to be?

Creation theories anybody? The Big Bang Theory is too far fetched, but one all-powerful being created everything in a week, according to the Bible, and that sounds perfectly logical. And how did any of the number of author's that may have written Genesis actually know what happened? Maybe God used to grant interviews, you know, back when he used to talk to people like Moses and tell them to do his bidding. Who's he talking to now? The nut jobs walking around the streets of New York waving Bibles, that's who!

you believe what you believe.. sometimes it seems when people have too much education, they start to think funny and have a lot of "questions". Seriously, there has to be more to life than all that right? God is God no point asking questions you'll never be able to comprehend.... there are things we will never be able to comprehend... true, people have their own rights to their thinking, right or wrong... questions like these, seriously.. would we really think about these things if we really had nothing else better to do? God exists, period... plain and simple If believing in a higher power, the fact that you are alive or the fact that Christ would die for you even if you didn't deserve, just to save you, doesn't sit well with you.... just find something else better to do, afterall if life was all you think it was.. it would be truly meaningless... Ultimately at the end of it all, we'll all get our answers... oneway or the other.... =) good job on getting all those pv for this though

Joshua, it sounds like you have a lot of questions to be answered. I doubt those answers will come from the "giant scam that is organized religion". I understand your reasoning behind that statement and can't argue much on that point. The good news though, is that our God and His son Jesus Christ are not religious! Unfortunately people that choose to follow Him sometimes are. In the process they mislead a lot of people and put a bad taste in our mouth for Christianity. Don't seek answers from man or human sources. You make a lot of harsh statements but it's obvious your knowledge of Christianity is very little. I challenge you to go directly to the source. The Bible. Truly, truly, all the answers you seek lie in that book. I know, I once held similar views as you. I read the book. I will always have questions concerning God and His ways but I got the big ones covered. I know where I came from, I know why I'm here, and I know where I'm going. That brings assurance beyond belief.

Chelsea, dearest, the theory of evolution never claimed that humans evolved from monkeys. It has to do with mutations changing something over time.

Posted on 05/17/2008 at 4:05:17 PM

Quote from Chelsea: I believe evolution is true concerning, there is a group of people living in a hot windy desert for over a million year, i believe that maybe they started being born with tougher skin, and better sweat glands. but i do not believe that there once was a person who was one day born from a monkey if so,,, why are there still monkey's wouldn't they all have evolved into people? it is rediculous to believe also that our brains are evolving. because they are not. it is called learning. you do not see monkey's giving birth to intelligent human beings you just dont. you would have to be part ape to believe that. and you also do not see dogs giving birth to litters of kittens either. it just doesn't happen one species stays the same all throughout time. they might look different according to evolution but they stay the same species" This may just be the stupidest thing I've EVER read. Of course dogs can spontaineously give birth to kittens! You'd have to be dumb as

You mention that Christians are "in complete denial about the hard, scientific proof of Darwin's Theory of Evolution." When evidence exists that unequivocally proves a proposed theory to be true, it is no longer referred to as theory. Scripture says: "And He said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.'" (Rev. 21:6-7) Jesus Christ is Lord whether men want Him to be or not, and if we are not with Him then we are against Him. Please reconsider, those of you who now oppose Him!

Good article, I just have to take issue with your last paragraph. There are many reasons to obey laws, to stay alive, and to be a "ggod person" without the yoke of religion. The Atheist that leads a good life is the most "moral" person there is.

I agree with Tweak; we are still evolving and always will be.
