Alec Baldwin Stands Up for Fathers Around the World; Says "Sorry" to Millions
Alec Baldwin is definitely trying to clean up his reputation since the release of a voicemail message left blasting his 11 year old daughter.
This morning (Friday April 27, 2007), Alec appeared in a taped segment for "The View" and spoke about the reason behind the message as well as how he is receiving a large amount of support from other
fathers.
During the interview, Rosie O'Donnell and Barbara Walters sat down with Alec Baldwin and allowed him to explain his actions.
Alec explained that it was wrong of him to call his daughter a pig and he apologizes to her for that.
He also stated that there is nothing wrong with feeling the way he felt at that time, considering that he felt his child had been ripped from him and was being kept away from him - however, he said that he took it out on the wrong person.
"There's nothing wrong with being frustrated or angry about the situation. It's the way you do it, and as people often do in this world, I took it out on the wrong person."
When asked, Alec assured Rosie, Barbara and the entire audience that this was just a one time thing and he had never acted like this with his child before.
Alec Baldwin also spoke about the amount of support he has received from other fathers around the world. He stated that people has been coming up to him to let him know that if all fathers that said something wrong to their child lost custody, the world would be full of children without fathers.
Alec's former wife, actress Kim Basinger, was accused by Alec of releasing the voicemail message to the website TMZ.com - however, Alec has retracted the blame from her. He told Rosie O'Donnell that he knew the guy responsible for releasing the tape.
One thing Alec Baldwin did speak about was how Kim Basinger managed to keep his daughter away from him and helped create the image of Alec abandoning his daughter.
