Science Fiction, or SciFi, books are a big market in the book publishing industry. If you are writing one you know that getting the right literary agent, one that has a specialty in the Sci Fi fiction division, is crucial to your book's success or failure.

Science Fiction tends to deal with technology, robots, aliens, intergalatic mission, etc... This is the genre that made Isaac Asimov famous. Writers in this field include Charles De Lint, Phillip K Dick, Terry Pratchett, and Kim Stanley Robinson. Terry Pratchett's Discworld series shows how well the interweavings of different world maps and characters can come together and have a near cult like following. Star Trek, Star Wars, and any of the other Map based "other worlds" are in this category. It is a growing field that once was just privy to "basement dwelling geeks who read in between rounds of Dungeons and Dragons"... now it is everywhere and a huge market.

Publishers of Sci Fi include this very well respected list of companies:

Harcourt Trade Publishers, Polaris, HarperCollinsPublishers Australia , Victor Gollancz, Knopf, Avon Eos Books, Baen Books, Bantam Spectra Books, Del Rey Books, HarperCollins UK Voyager, The Science Fiction Book Club, Simon & Schuster , Orbit, Pyr, Firebird, House of Stratus, Hodder Headline, DAW Books, Chaosium, HarperPrism, Penguin Putnam, Tor Books, Warner Aspect Books, White Wolf, TSR, Scholastic Books.Below are literary agents that all deal with Sci Fi fiction and are all, at the time of this article's writing, taking submissions and queries. Each literary agent is profiled with contact information and the other genres they represent. Polish off that query, make that hook the best it can be, and good luck in your quest for representation.
