For years I have struggled with my natural curly hair. I have had many different lengths and cuts. I have tried straightening and curling. However, after much trial and error, I finally understand my hair.

If you have natural curly hair, you know that it makes its own rules. There are very few styles that can be created with natural curly hair. The hair itself creates most natural curly styles.

You also know that the weather can play a big part in your hair's performance.

A person with natural curly hair never gets up and goes. Sleeping on natural curls usually leaves you with a head of frizz in the morning. I never leave the house without washing my hair or pulling it up.

Getting beautiful natural curly hair is an art. After washing your hair, which usually is done everyday due to frizz, you must apply gel immediately. Letting your hair dry too much before applying a gel can cause a lot of frizz and curls will not fall properly. I prefer to use L.A. Look Gel 2 Mousse.

L.A. Looks Gel 2 Mousse is exactly what it says. It comes out like gel and foams into a mousse. The gel has a firm hold like other gels but is not sticky or hardening because it foams into a mousse.

After applying L.A. Looks Gel 2 Mousse, I then let my hair air-dry. It does not have to dry completely but most of the moist should be gone before you begin to style. Once your hair has had time to dry, gently blow it with warm air from a hair dryer. Keep your hair dryer on low. The purpose of the hair dryer is to fluff and give body to your hair. It will also take out any moisture left in your hair.

I usually style my hair a slight 'bigger' than I desire. Through out the day your hair often falls and tames down. Having the weight cut off of your hair every so often will also add spring back into your curls.

Once your hair is styled, Use a frizz control curling spray, such as the one from Frizz Ease, to tame any fly aways. When you are satisfied, spray with a frizz control hair spray.

You can have beautiful natural curly hair. Finding the right products and the right techniques is all that it takes.

My daughter has beautiful naturally curly hair. She hates dealing with it. I'll pass these tips on to her.

One of the most important thing to remember for curls is keepong moisture in the hair shaft. I wash my curly hair only once or twice a week. The shapoo strips the natural oil from my hair and makes it frizz. The night before I wash my hair I will use a quarter size amount of natural palm oil and pull my hair up under a sleep cap and let it stay on all night. As for styling I avoid prodcucts with alcohol. i use light gels with silicon polymers. they provide flexible hold on my ringlets and don't dry out my hair. good luck with curls - they are beautiful and take a little extra care.

please excuse me but I don't have much sympathy for some one with your hair texture telling of their hair woes. You women with naturally curly hair have some of the most beautiful hair that God ever created. Come on, be honest. Would you even for a moment trade with one of us sisters with the tight nappy kinks. I have long since been envious of hair like yours and after all these years am learning to appreciate my hair.
