Using Twitter for Self-Promotion - My AC Twitter Challenge
When I read about the AC Twitter Challenge, I thought, "Oh, this will be a snap, and an easy way to promote my articles". I had already been a member of Twitter before this challenge, so I would just be writing about something I was already doing. I had no idea what I would learn from this exercise, but it has proved to be quite interesting, and has helped me gain more knowledge of how self-promotion can really pay off.

Twitter is the premiere place for micro-blogging information and a fantastic sharing tool. The only catch is, you have to convey your idea or thought in 140 characters or less (that always seems to be a problem for me, but I'm getting the hang of it). Especially since I've found the 'tiny url'. It has been extremely helpful in shortening my very long links to make space for more characters in promoting that link. There are a few sites that offer this key advantage; and all of them are pretty much exactly the same:
Tiny.cc
Tiny Url.com
Tinyurl.org
As of today, October 14, 2009, 12:00 p.m., I have 1204 followers in my network, and am following 1825 Twitterers (is that even a word? I suppose since the inception of Twitter it would count at the very least a slang term; along with many other twords that have popped up since it's inception...it just twickles me using a tw- in front of any word to make it a part of the growing hysteria.. ha J).
I've found many interesting people and businesses that I'm sure I would have otherwise never found or heard of through Twitter and am thankful for the wide platform of new networks that has opened to me.
Here are a few of them along with some helpful twitter-helpers:

Twollow
Twollow is actually one of the biggest reasons why I have such a great network. It does all the work for you!
Twollow is new simple tool that automatically follows people based on keywords or phrases that those people mention. You can try it for free with five of your added keywords.
