The Hudson Valley is one of the closest camping areas to New York City. As a matter of fact, you can come camping in the Hudson Valley, enjoy everything that the valley has to offer and still be in New York City in less than an hour. These are full service camping facilities, more like resorts, only you can bring your own accommodations. Or rent from them. Either way, you get a great camping experience, with the Hudson River providing boating and plenty of hiking trails to enjoy. These are also great for New York City residents who want to get a camping experience and still be within shouting distance of home. They all have special events going on for the entire camping season. Check them out and see if you can come when something special is going on, something extra to make your Hudson Valley camping experience a very special event.

Black Bear Campground P.O. Box 82 • 197 Wheeler Road
Florida, New York 10921 is located just over 50 miles from NYC. A great place for campers who want to tour NYC and for NYC residents who want to just take a camping escape, yet be near enough to be in the city in a flash. It is a full service campground, with a swimming pool, sports, mini gold, hiking trails and access to the most popular attractions in the Hudson Valley like West Point and the Harness Racing & Hall of Fame. For those visiting the city, they have guided tours of some of the main attractions. They also have cabins and RV's for rent.

Another Hudson Valley Campground is Apples to Apples. They are another full service campground with two swimming pools, special activities for the children, sports equipment, hiking trails, you can take a boat ride on the Hudson, visit the local wineries, and get in a round of golf on one of the great Hudson Valley Golf Courses. They also have guided tours to NYC and are just under 60 miles away. They are located at Newburgh/New York City North KOA
