Pain
Normally, pain is most noticeable at the shoulders, and neck area which is mostly mistaken for as a sprain or just too much stress on that part. Normally the pain is most found in the joint areas, and then spread into the muscle areas. In some special cases, you will find that when massaging those parts, the pain will shoot down the back or the arms; as you can see, these symptoms are hard to recognize as fibromyalgia. Pain can also be noticeable in other parts of the body - not only the shoulders and neck.
Fatigue
Someone experiencing fibromyalgia may experience fatigue as the early symptoms. Fibromyalgia will make you feel fatigue and tired no matter how many hours you've slept. Fatigue can also be accompanied by the feeling of depression. If you're feeling tired for a long period of time even though you've got all the rest you've needed, then you may want to look for the other symptoms as well. Normally, this is the early symptom; sometimes, when feeling fatigue you'll also feel a bit drowsy, and incapable of interpreting many of the events occurring around you.
Stiffness
Last but not least, normally you would also experience stiffness in the joint areas no matter what age you are. Stiffness can be noticeable at different period of the day, and can sometimes even be accompanied by some sort of pain as well. The stiffness can sometimes be mistaken as arthritis.
