When someone is said to be transgender this means that their self-identity is not the same as the gender they are physically born with. Transgender individuals feel as though they are trapped in the wrong body. Which means a child born as a male, will feel like they are a female and a child which is born a female would feel as if they are really a male. This creates much emotional stress for the transgender person.

Because of this ever increasing emotional stress, transgender people suffer from anxiety, depression, and chemical dependency in many cases. In addition, many transgender people find themselves trying to live the life as the sex that they were born into, thus leading to many family problems, and divorces.
