Do you feel as if you are not getting what you want from life? Are you dissatisfied with your job, your significant other, your friends? Many people feel discontent from time to time with their lives, and no one is ever going to feel content with their life 100% of the time, it's just not possible, nor realistic to think so. And yet, there are things you can do to get those things you want from life. You may have unfulfilled dreams that you want to try and bring into fruition, or maybe you want to meet someone special but you think you are too shy, geeky, heavy, or whatever. The truth is you can have at least some of things you want out of life if you know how to go about getting them. Many people give up thinking that there is no way, so don't be one of them.

So, how can you get what you want from life?

The first thing to keep in mind is to remember that your wants are going to change as you get older. What may have seemed like the biggest dream of your lifetime at age twenty-two, may not at age forty. So, be willing to be flexible with your dreams and desires, this is the first key to getting what you want from life.

The next step is to decide what you actually do want out of life. This can be a very daunting prospect for some, and the younger you are, the less you may actually know what you want. Be kind to yourself. Not everyone is always going to know what they want from life right off the bat. If you don't know, give yourself the time to determine what you want. Become a detective of yourself, keep a journal where you can draw or write as your heart desires while you look for clues. Keep lists of your likes and dislikes, and ask yourself questions such as, "Where do I want to be in five, and then ten years?"
