Growing marigold flowers is easy for just about everyone. Marigolds are a hardy flower that is simple to grow. Marigolds look good just about everywhere they are planted. Marigolds are an annual plant which means that they do not come up by themselves year after year. Marigolds need to be replanted every year.

Marigolds are a beautiful flower but they are not just beautiful they are useful. Marigolds omit an odor that many insects find offensive so when you plant marigolds you are actually helping keep insects away from the area you are planting the marigold flowers in. Insects do not like to be around marigold flowers.

Marigold's come in different sizes. Some marigold flowers are very small and others are very large. Marigolds are a beautiful orange or bright yellow flower. Marigolds are lively and make any flower garden brighten up. Marigolds are great in a flower garden but they also look nice in a vegetable garden. Since marigold flowers help keep insects away then they are a good flower to plant next to plants that insects like to eat. For instance tomatoes are a plant that some insects like to bother but if you plant some marigolds next to the tomato plants then the marigolds help to keep the insects away from the tomatoes.

Shorter types of marigolds make good boarder plants. Larger strains of marigolds make good bedding plants. You can plant marigolds in pots and you can even use them as cut flowers. Marigolds are a multipurpose flower that has many uses.

You can buy marigolds as plants already started in pots at a garden center. You can buy marigold seeds just about anywhere that sell seeds such as a garden center or department store. When you buy marigold seeds just follow the instructions on the package of seeds. Marigolds can be started indoors before the danger of frost has past or you can plant the seeds directly into the ground outdoors. When you plant marigolds directly outdoors you should wait till all danger of frost has past in your area before you plant your marigold seeds. Marigolds are a hardy flower but frost will kill them..
