Could Shane McMahon Have Left the WWE to Help Linda McMahon with Her Connecticut Senate Run?

Analysis by a Political Advisor

On Friday, October 16th, Shane McMahon, son of the WWE's Vince McMahon and Connecticut US Senate hopeful Linda McMahon, announced that he would be leaving his post in the WWE to pursue other ventures outside of the wrestling industry. As a political advisor, I have to state that this is a very peculiar step for Shane McMahon now that his mother, Linda McMahon is running for Senate.

On Friday, Shane McMahon turned in a letter of resignation that will be effective January 1st of next year. Since his mother, Linda McMahon has stepped down from her position as the CEO of the WWE to pursueChris Dodd's Connecticut seat in the Senate, one must assume that Shane McMahon's departure has something to do with this move. We can look at this venture by Shane McMahon in two ways.

First off, we can believe that with Linda McMahon not in the picture in the offices of the WWE, maybe Shane McMahon is not getting the fair shake that he believes that he needs. There has been statements from workers inside, and former workers, of the WWE that have suggested that Shane McMahon was closer to his mother, Linda McMahon, than he was to his father, Vince McMahon. Perhaps the loss of Linda McMahon left Shane without a voice, or a shoulder to lean on.

The other way that we can look at this issue of Shane McMahon leaving the WWE is that he might be heading out of the offices to help his mother with her Senate race. Shane McMahon has been considered to be one of the intricate players in the growth of the WWE online. He spearheaded the recreation of the WWE website, and the progress that they have made in other digital medias.

Shane McMahon also has experience working in the WWE in the sales office, marketing, and international business departments. This could make him a strong member for Linda McMahon's election committee. There are very few people in the business world that can say that they have the background that Shane McMahon can boast of.
