Rosa's Café is a fairly unique Mexican restaurant in San Angelo. Rosa's has been around San Angelo for decades in a few different locations. Rosa's is kind of a cross between a regular dine in restaurant and a fast food restaurant.

If you are familiar with the Taco Cabana chain in San Antonio and Central Texas, then you have an idea of what Rosa's is all about. The difference is Rosa's has better food.

While Rosa's offers fast service and a drive-thru, it also offers beer and margaritas. And the food is better than you will get at any fast food joint.

Rosa's makes their tortillas fresh right in front of you, and they are as delicious as you will find anywhere. Rosa's specializes in real Mesquite grilled fajitas. They marinade their beef and chicken fajita meat, and grill it over real West Texas Mesquite. You can get a fajita plate for a little over $6, which is a very good deal.

Rosa's also has the best refried beans in town, in my opinion. Even their rice is good, something most people just see as filler. Rosa's also has the best sopapillas in town for dessert. They are delicious and only cost .39 cents apiece.

The only thing that Rosa's serves that isn't that great is the enchiladas. They aren't bad, but they don't match up with what you can get at other local restaurants.

On my last visit to Rosa's I ordered a beef fajita plate. For $6.29 I got lots of fajita meat with plenty of grilled bell peppers and onions, guacamole, beans, rice, 3 freshly made tortillas, and a grilled jalapeno. This was as good or better than any fajitas I've had at other local restaurants, and it was also cheaper than most fajita orders, which can cost upwards of $10 at many restaurants.

If you need to feed the whole family, Rosa's also offers a fajita fiesta for $15.99, which comes with enough fixins to fill 12 tortillas.

My friend ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a combo burrito. I love their bean burritos and they are only .99 cents. The combo burritos are great as well, and my friend agreed.

"Their beans are great, and so are their burritos," she said.
