If you're like me, the content you produce for Associated Content is mostly videos. However, there are many, many content producers who produce mostly written articles. Having done both, I've noticed that pretty much the same leg work is involved in creating content in either genre. You have to do the same research and create the same outlines for either an article or a video. That being the case, why not produce both an article and a video on this subject matter? That way you'll get paid twice for the same research and leg work.

Let me give you an example. I did a video discussing Making a Living on Associated Content, which was an interview with CP Carrie Freeman. I took the outline I made to conduct that interview, typed out the transcript of the interview with Carrie, and published this transcript as a separate article. I only did the basic leg work once, but got paid twice - once when AC bought the video and once when they bought the transcript article.

There is another aspect to consider when taking this approach. Each piece gets its own page views. Many people, who have trouble watch videos because of low bandwidth or other reasons, really appreciated still having access to this content in the form of an article. Additionally, if someone really loves the content of your video, by having an article available with the same information, they can just print it out, rather than trying to take notes while watching the video. So not only do you get offers twice on the same leg work, and get page views on each separate piece of content, you have people looking for that alternate version of your work. You've opened yourself of to another market with that topic that you would not have otherwise had.

Timothy, I think the page views depend on what genre you excel at. I get poorer page views on my articles.

The only problem with videos is they do not get as many page views as articles. I am finding better page views with articles. Videos are okay but I seem to suck at them.

good information. I've thought about doing videos but I'm technically challenged in the video department. LOL give me a computer and I can gut it, give me a coffee pot and I can't get the timer to work. hehe
