Roma Downey and Mark Burnett Marry in Malibu

Mark Burnett 46, and Roma Downey 47, were wed in a quiet ceremony at the couple's home on Saturday. The Malibu wedding took place on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Joining in the celebration were close friends and family members.The service was a simple and quite elegant affair which included poetry readings. Officiating at the romantic nuptials was Della Reese, minister and long time friend of Miss Downey. The two became close friends while starring together in the religious-based TV hit series "Touched By an Angel" The children of Miss Downey and Mark Burnett from previous unions were present and stood up for their parents.

Burnett's sons, James 13 and Cameron 10, served as Best-man and Ring-bearer respectively. Downey's daughter 10 year old Reilly served as Bride's Maid. Guests also included Burnett's father and step-mother. Miss Reese and husband Franklin, stood in as parents of Miss Downey. Downey's parents are deceased. During the ceremony a plane flew over trailing a banner which read, "and they lived happily ever after".

This was the third marriage for Roma Downey and the second for Mark Burnett. Miss Downey had been wed to actor Leland Orser from 1987 through 1989. She then wed David Anspaugh in 1995. The marriage to Anspaugh and Downey was also officiated by Reese.The marriage ended in 1998. Burnett had been married to 1st wife, Diane until they divorced in 2004.

The couple have been long time neighbors for years. They began dating in January 2004 after Burnett's divorce. They became engaged on Thanksgiving Day 2006 on a family vacation in Zihuatenejo, Mexico. The couple will honeymoon for ten days in Jordan and London.
