2009 College Football Week 8 Predictions and Picks
It's time for my 2009 College Football Week 8 predictions and picks. Let's start in South Bend where Notre Dame tries to rebound against Boston College. The Fighting Irish are an 8 to 10 point favorite to many oddsmakers. But much to the chagrin of Irish fans everywhere, Boston College will make a great game of it. Notre Dame seems to play to the level of their opponents. In week 8 of the college football season, my pick is Notre Dame edges Boston College 35-31.
Ohio State tries to rebound at home against Minnesota after being upset by Purdue. The Buckeyes are a huge favorite in this contest. But I'd take the points in a heartbeat while Ohio State tries to figure things out a bit. Ohio State still wins comfortably 31-17 in College Football Week 8.
Other 2009 College Football Week 8 predictions and picks? Tennessee travels to Alabama for an SEC showdown. The Tide is ranked 2nd in the nation and they are undefeated. Alabama is anywhere from a 14-17 point favorite according to those who set the odds. But Tennessee proved they can play a bit with a huge win over Georgia. Don't look for the talented but young Volunteers squad to get routed on the road. Alabama wins but it's closer than expected. Roll Tide 30-20.
UCLA is at Arizona out west. Arizona is an 8 point favorite in most predictions. But will UCLA pull off another crazy upset? Probably not. I'll stick with Arizona to beat the 8 point margin and win 34-20.
More 2009 College Football Week 8 predictions and picks. Iowa is at Michigan State. There is no clear cut favorite in this one. Iowa won at Penn State and is, gulp, undefeated. I'll take the team that won at Penn State and at Wisconsin in this one. Hawkeyes continue to roll with a 23-16 win over the Spartans.
Texas travels to Missouri after their big battle with Oklahoma. Are the Longhorns in for a letdown? This could be one of the few tests remaining and standing in the way of a national title appearance. Afterall, somebody will lose in the SEC title game and open the door for the Longhorns if they stay the course. The Longhorns are a big favorite. Mizzou still has some questions to answer and they won't do it here with a 27-18 loss to Texas.
