"A Soldier in the U.S. Army is the embodiment of physical strength, emotional strength and strength of purpose. As a Soldier, you will be prepared to serve our country whenever and wherever you are needed, combat-ready at all times, trained to counter any threat, anywhere"( GoArmy.com.2007). The Military recruitment campaign is one of the most well known and one of the most persuasive campaign's in America today. The United States Army each year aims at different target audiences in hopes of selling this way of life to American citizens. The ultimate goal of most campaigns is to educate and to prepare the audience so that they may become the leader in its market. Since the Army continually faces criticism and strives to involve more and more young people each year, their campaign must be strong. Some of the major strategies used to achieve this goal are the use of television, magazine, internet advertisements, as well as in person recruiters across the country in high school and college campuses. The United States Army uses several persuasive theories to appeal to audiences of all ages whether it be students, young adults, or to parents of soldiers.
