Hulk Hogan Suicide Attempt Stopped by Phone Call - in His New Memoir - "My Life Outside the Ring"
Hulk Hogan's Book - "My Life Outside the Ring" is a Tell All Book About the Hulk Hitting Bottom
Hulk Hogan's new memoir, "My Life Outside the Ring," WWE legend Hulk Hogan talks about the night he almost took his own life after a painful divorce from his wife of 23 years.Hulk and his crew were another family from a reality show that fell apart after it was over. Just like Jessica and Nick on their Newlywed Show, what was coming up roses in front of the camera wilted on the vine once they were turned off.
Hogan's family lived in the public eye with their television show "Hogan Knows Best." Things were good for the Hogan's, but back in 2007 the wrestler-turned-reality-TV-star admits to spinning out of control after the divorce from his wife Linda.
When his marriage fell apart, Hulk Hogan did too. In the book he talks about a specific night of hard partying in December 2007. He came home and grabbed a gun and put his finger on the trigger only to be stopped by a phone call from Laila Ali, his "Gladiators" co-star. He called because he had sensed that something was not right with Hogan after spending time with him earlier that week.
Hulk writes in his new book, "There were times when I thought that a whole bottle of pills would go down easy . . . Then I noticed the gun in my hand. I was careless with it . . . I kept my finger pressed right to that trigger . . . and if I moved that finger an inch in the right direction . . . I would have blown my brains out."
"My Life Outside the Ring" will be available on Oct. 27.
His family show, "Hogan Knows Best" was a reality show that was a very modern spin on "Father Knows Best", a TV show from the 50's. Hogan is a strict father and very dominating as the family leader.
His wife, Linda, who always appeared to adore her husband, divorced him and has been known around Hollywood as an original "Cougar". She has been linked with young men, the same age as her own children.
His son has been in trouble with the law, spending some time in prison for reckless driving which caused an accident leaving the passenger with serious head injuries.
Hogan's Book, "My Life Outside the Ring", will be available on Oct. 27.
