Not all loaded celebrities will dish out a pretty penny on an expensive steak dinner at such high-class eateries as Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Yep. They'd much rather indulge in bean sprouts and tofu.

When hunger strikes in Hollywood, you may be surprised at how many notable folks opt for vegetarian food. Some embark on a vegetarian diet for ethical reason, some for health reasons and some, well, just because. A few will occasionally eat fish and some who are less strict will occasionally have meat. Some use their star status to promote vegetarianism, while others just live the lifestyle.

Here is a look at some famous vegetarians:

Albert Einstein
He was a genius. How could he be wrong? According to an old quote from the world's most famous intellect, "Nothing will benefit human health or increase the chances for survival of life on earth as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."

Pamela Anderson
Is it her PETA ads that give it away? Ms. Anderson chose the vegetarian lifestyle for ethical reasons, and today is one of the most vocal advocates for animals. She told GoVeg.com that "there is nothing glamorous about chewing on the corpse of a tortured animal." She explains that being cruel to farm animals is nothing different than being cruel to a household pet-which there are laws against.

Mr. (Fred) Rogers
Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood was a show all about values. Mr. Rogers had some of his own: not eating animals. In a WQED-TV tribute to their former friend and coworker, one colleague of Rogers commented on his experimenting with vegetarian sandwiches. "They were special, like him," he said.

Casey Casem
You won't find any meat on this famous disc jockey's top 40 list of foods. The host of 'Casey's Top 40,' according to jewishveg.org turned down lucrative ad contracts with potential clients that aren't animal-friendly. Those ads conflicted with his dedication to a vegetarian diet.
