So the concert of the century is looming, and you and fifty of your closest friends need the best seats in the house. Of course, they elect you to take care of the “administrative” aspect of securing the concert tickets. So, how do you ensure that all of your friends get the best seats at good prices? In order to avoid that mob of angry friends, make use of some of these tips for buying concert tickets... Your friends will thank you!

Tip Number 1: Buy Early!
Perhaps this seems like a comparatively apparent tip to begin with, but you would not believe how many people wait until the last minute to buy concert tickets only to be turned away disgruntled because the show sold out five minutes before. If you buy your concert tickets early, you not only have a better chance of getting the seats you actually want (you know, the seats where you can actually see the show), but you will also pay lower prices. As shows begin to sell out ticket holders often start raising prices so get in line (or on the phone) early to secure your seats and pricing.

Tip Number 2: Presale Tickets?
Presale concert tickets actually do happen, for the lucky few anyway. One of the best ways to find out about presale concert tickets and have the option of purchasing them is to sign up for a fan club. Many popular groups, artists, and teams have a presale option for shows that are restricted to their fan groups. These types of groups also distribute newsletters and information about upcoming shows, so you will never be caught off guard and miss your chance to purchase a ticket.

Tip Number 3: Online Concert Tickets
Ticketmaster.com is the most obvious source for purchasing tickets online. There are others, however, that may offer cheaper prices on comparable seats. Though it seems to be the easiest route Ticketmaster.com may not always have the best seats and prices. StubHub.com and Tickets.com are other resources not to be overlooked. You can also find some deals as well on auction sites like eBay.com. Make sure you look for a reputable seller before purchasing! Try not to limit yourself in your haste to secure any ticket; patience can be a virtue here as well!

Takeaways
  • Keep your eyes and ears open for ticket giveaways or contests and enjoy the show!
  • Presale concert tickets actually do happen, for the lucky few anyway.
  • Sometimes cut-rate tickets can be bought at the door after shows start.
