Balloon Boy Halloween Costume No Hoax
The Balloon Boy Halloween Costume Website is Worth the Visit
Are you going to dress in a Balloon Boy costume for Halloween this year? How about your kid? You didn't know there was such a thing as the Balloon Boy Halloween costume? Where have you been? Out in the pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin? (It's way to early, you know.) It is common knowledge that every time something catches the public eye, Halloween costume makers are going to try to make a buck off of it. With Balloon Boy having dominated the news for a week and only another week until Halloween, it only makes sense that someone would attempt to capitalize on the Balloon Boy story and make a Halloween costume that would remind everyone of the hoax and that wild and crazy dad, Richard Heene.Every year there are some pretty clever people that come up with some great Halloween costumes. They spend hours and hours constructing them. And then there are the manufacturers of costumes. They generally do knock-offs or licensed characters or the old traditionals like Frankenstein, the werewolf, witches, zombies, and vampires. And then there are those that take a current fad or popular topic -- like the balloon boy hoax -- and create a Halloween costume from the theme.
A Canadian company, Plantraco, is marketing a Balloon Boy Halloween Costume Kit for $19.99. Their ad states that you can "Now have all the media attention you want" with their Balloon Boy Hoax Kit. "As seen on CNN" is emblazoned over a picture of a boy with an open box over his head and a big silver mylar balloon as a trick-or-treat companion. The ad suggests: "Just ring the doorbell and say "'I'm supposed to be flying in there, but my dad said to stay in the box for the show!'" The ad also tells the potential buyer that the balloon has a little lift -- maybe enough to lift a 6-year-old -- so be sure to have "the phone number to CNN and MSNBC handy - just in case."
Even if you don't buy the Balloon Boy Hoax Halloween Costume Kit, the ad makes the trip to Plantraco's website worth it.
