Do you help your child with their homework or does your child know more than you can remember from your grade school days? It is a classic dilemma for most adult parents. Well, you are in luck if you have a smart 4th grader. FOX Broadcasting Company is looking for their new class of 5th Graders for the hit game show Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?. Now is your chance to show off your smart, funny, outgoing child who will be a 5th grader during the 2007-2008 school year. You and your child can submit a Student Application along with a photo and video to the show using the guidelines and forms found at the show's FOX web site. What would make you more proud than seeing your child on television helping an adult win $1 million?

I am hooked on the show, not because it challenges my trivia knowledge or luck. Success on the show is simply a matter of one's ability to recall basic knowledge from years ago. This is harder than it sounds! Admittedly, I have only been able to answer about half the questions correctly. Throughout the entire show, you are certain that you learned the information at some point in your life, but just can't pull it out of the grey matter. When you hear the correct answer, you feel certain that you knew that information all along. For example:

What is the largest animal on earth?
What is the only prime number that is a factor of 16?
By land area measurement, what is the largest state in the United States?
What is the largest star in the sky?
The Giant Panda is native to which continent?
How many ounces are in three pints of water?
What was Mark Twain's real name?
Remember?

Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? is a record-breaking game show for the FOX network. It became the highest rated series premiere for FOX in 13 years and the highest-rated series premiere on any network in more than five years among adults aged 18-49. Another record-breaking statistic - the show's debut retained the largest audience ever out of an American Idol lead-in among adults aged 18-49. The second show also returned impressive results, indicating that FOX definitely had a hit on their hands.
