"An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. This can occur spontaneously as a miscarriage, or be artificially induced by chemical, surgical or other means. Commonly, "abortion" refers to an induced procedure at any point during human pregnancy; medically, it is defined as miscarriage or induced termination before twenty weeks' gestation, which is considered nonviable. Throughout history, abortion has been induced by various methods. The moral and legal aspects of abortion are subject to intense debate in many parts of the world." These pictures are not ones I gathered for myself. If you think the pictures are not real, then go to the source. I researched abortion for this article, and those pictures were the ones that came up during my research. The website sited is the place where the pictures came from. There is no way for me to validate the pictures aside from watching an actual abortion myself. I have no want of wanting to be in the same room as such an immoral act in any way shape or form... If you can find some other pictures, then I would be happy to post them in place of or with these pictures. However, don't attack an article based on the cover without reading the words. If anything, help make the article accurate.

Aborted "fetus" pictures are fabricated, or else they're pictures of stillborns. An actual aborted fetus (done in the first trimester) looks kind of like a peanut made of mucus. That picture is a stillborn, which is obvious from the level of decay. Abortions don't happen to a fetus that well developed unless the baby is already dead. The fact that you use a fraudulent picture makes me ignore everything else you have to say. Sorry.

I think that the pictures were totally uncalled for but whatever it's your choice to post them.Your article is kind of one sided. You have not been in the predicament yourself and you pass judgement on others. I had an abortion years ago. It was my second pregnancy I miscarried my first pregnancy and the second one was going the same way but I had it terminated because I could not provide for the child in anyway and could not live with the fact that I might give it away and the baby be worse off then with me and i know from experience. You preach abortion is wrong how many kids have you adopted? How many single mothers do you sponcer to avoid the abortions for financial reasons?I have to live with my choice until I die I don't need you to condemn me when you are not any better.I'm not religous but doesn't the good book say he who have no sins cast the first stone?

You should show the picture. If young people looking for research on abortion are too young to see the pictures, then they are too young to do the research. Abortion is filthy and heinous. The only way people can live with themselves thinking it is OK is to use a bunch of silly words and hide themselves from the fact..which is so readily seen in the pictures. In Nazi Germany, Jews weren't "legally persons". Every evil society that wants to kill someone tries to strip their "personhood" away. Wake up. All homo sapiens are persons...all of the legal mumbo jumbo in the world won't make murder OK.

I can agree that perhaps the picture was a bit much, but they were the only ones that I could find out of others. I was meaning to show what aborted babies looked like without explaining in graphic detail. The pictures were not meant to offend in any way. And I apologize if they did. I am only interested in pointing out truth and showing people that there is right and wrong despite moral relativism.

Those pictures are simply sensationalist attempts to get your point across. It is disgusting and unnecessary. You DID mean to offend and have. That is just sick and irresponsible to have on a site where young people, looking for research articles, should have to see. Shame on you.

im an open-minded person but that picture is a little too much. I'd rather have your words convince me, not a disgusting picture.

I hope I didn't offend... but I feal very strongly about this issue.

".. the baby's rights are taken away..." Actually, "the baby" isn't even legally a "person" at that stage, thus it enjoys no rights under the law. Naturally, as your pictures show, a human fetus looks like a tiny human... and, as you've expressed, they move they're arms and legs. This doesn't mean they do so conciously. In fact, they have never experience any form of conciousness, ever... despite what may be portrayed by the fetal photos of religious fanatics who try to capture any sense of humanity they can by posing aborting fetuses.
