Garth Brooks Tickets Sell Quickly for Wynn Las Vegas Shows
Its Almost as If He Never Retired
Garth Brooks tickets went on sale Saturday at 8 a.m. at Wynn Las Vegas for the first time in two years and for the first time ever for a regular, steady venue. Garth Brooks tickets went on sale for $125 per seat and, according to KTNV in Reno, the Wynn Las Vegas website had two million views in the first two hours. Over 40,000 users were still waiting online to buy tickets. In the near decade that Garth Brooks has been away from recording and touring, it seems that demand for tickets to his shows have not diminished in the least. One of the last few times tickets went on sale for a Garth Brooks event (November 14, 2007), the tickets sold so quickly and there was such a demand, he expanded the one-off concert originally planned to thank Wal-Mart for their support over the years to a 9-night affair. The brand new Sprint Center in Kansas City sold out the 18,000-seat arena for all eight shows in less than two hours, according to CMT.
Two weeks later, a one-off charity event in Los Angeles became a five-show event, according to Live Daily, and Garth Brooks would set a record, becoming the first artist in Staples Center history to sell out five shows in a single day. In fact, he did it in 59 minutes. The proceeds from the show went to help California fire victims.
Garth Brooks announced last week at a press conference on the Wynn Encore Casino stage he would be performing on that he had signed a five-year deal with the Las Vegas casino. He would perform four shows on sixteen weekends each year. He told the Associated Press that when Steve Wynn had first approached him about doing some shows and coming out of retirement, the country singer had told the casino owner that he couldn't afford him. But then Steve Wynn made Garth Brooks an offer. Although the final amount of the contract has not been disclosed, it has become apparent that Steve Wynn could indeed afford Garth Brooks. All Brooks said was, "I was wrong. Wow."
