So, I come across great wood framed mirrors all the time at my local flea n tiqu shops and flea market. They are crying out to be made into something useful again and can often be very affordable! Choose a well built vintage mirror with a solid wood frame; you will be drilling into it!

So, you need to measure how wide the base of your vintage mirror is.

Have 3 2X6's cut to this same length.

Have 2 more 2X6's cut to 6 inches long.

Now, you need to assemble your 2X6's like an open wood box. I like to stand the two ling pieces up, then use some duct tape to hold the two small ends in place. Use your drill to pre drill holes to screw this together. You will want these holes to be working from the outside of the long pieces into the wood ends of the shot pieces.

Use your thin wood screws to assemble the box frame.

Now, lay the bottom on the frame.

Pre drill holes around the edge that run into the frame. Use your wood screws to attach the bottom of the vintage planter now.

Now, hold your wood planter up to the bottom the mirror. Line it up so the edges are in line.

Mark on the inside of the box where it will touch the wood frame of the vintage mirror.

Pre drill these holes through the wood planter.

Replace the box plantar and mark these holed on the vintage mirror. Remove the box and pre drill the holes.

Takeaways
  • Pre drill these holes through the wood planter.
  • Mark on the inside of the box where it will touch the wood frame of the vintage mirror.
