You will take classes in creative writing, medical terminology, body structures, pharmacy terminology, and keyboarding. You will also take classes which will involve using transcription dictation machines.

The truth is that even colleges will gladly enroll you into this course knowing that you will not have a very good chance gaining employment in this area once you have graduated. The truth is that there is a catch 22 so to speak. If you take time to look over the classifies you will see that there is a great need for medical transcriptionist, but at the same time not only is schooling required but also experience. Once again this is a situation which one needs experience but they can not get the needed experience without someone taking a chance on them. After you have received your formal training you will then have to overcome this obstacle before you can get started on your new career. A good way to get your foot in the door is to find a doctor who is in need of a transcriptionist and will agree to let you do a bit of work for him or her for free to show them that you are capable of doing a great job.
