Hotel Review: Rodeway Inn Located in Waterford, CT
In my Hotel Review of the Rodeway Inn located in Revere, MA, I mentioned I traveled north to buy a vehicle in Hanover, MA. I left that hotel early and headed to the dealership. However, I didn't leave the dealership until almost 2pm by the time I did a test drive and finished the paperwork. On my wa
y back to Virginia, I was already tired, partly from having driven fifteen hours the previous day. Entering Rhode Island, I was hungry considering I hadn't eaten since early that morning. After I ate at an Applebee's, I got back on the road again. However, it was becoming late by the time I entered Connecticut.
Seeing the Rodeway Inn located right off the interstate, I turned without much thought. I hadn't planned on not making it home that night, but I had to stop. Entering the hotel's office, I asked if they had any rooms available. The lady replied that they did and asked what I wanted. I told her I wanted a non-smoking room with a queen size bed. Having noticed that the rooms are entered from the outside, unlike the Rodeway Inn I stayed at the previous day, I requested a room on the bottom floor so I could park in front of my door. Thankfully, this was available.
Considering it was raining, I rushed back to my vehicle and moved it in front of my room. Entering the room, I was amazed that this hotel was so cheap. The room was the biggest hotel room I've ever been in. Part of what made it big was that the kitchen was a separate room. I didn't have any food with me, so the kitchen wasn't necessary. However, this is a great convenience when you know in advance where you are staying has a kitchen so you can bring food and drinks. It's like a real kitchen. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and a stove. Some things just cannot be prepared in a microwave, making that stove a real convenience.
Some hotels charge for local calls. However, this Rodeway Inn does not. This means that you can go online if you brought your laptop and have a dial up internet service provider. Just be sure that you dial into a local number so you aren't accidentally making a long distance call. They may have high speed internet now.
