For residents and visitors to Miami alike, there are several places for a day trip that are almost vacations in themselves. Day trips come in handy when you regular plans change, when you just need to get out and do something different or when the kids are bored and you really need to get them interested in something. Take a look at these examples of the places you can visit and the things you can do on a day trip in the Miami area. How about spending your day trip getting up close and personal with the alligators at the Everglades Alligator Farm? They are right on the edge of the Everglades National Park in Florida City Florida and your trip will include an air boat ride in the park. And be sure to there for the wild life shows, 10:00am /1:00pm/4:00pm Snake Show; 11:00am/2:00pm/5:00pm Alligator Show: 12:00pm/3:00pm Alligator Feeding and yes you can get to hold some of the animals. If you are in the mood for a day trip hike, check out the Redland Trail. Start at the farm and follow the trail to such places as Monkey Jungle, Coral Castle and the Bonsi Garden, among others. The Dolphin Research Center is a Miami area day trip that gives you a chance to become a dolphin trainer for a day and get in and swim with the dolphins. This alone will take all day. You get to know the dolphins, put them through their paces, do everything a trainer does. You do need to make a reservation for this one. And you get a special gift to take home, a tee shirt hand painted by your new dolphin friends. You can also be a researcher for a day. They also have a wade in program where you can get in the water and meet the dolphins without having to swim. They are open 9-5 seven days a week and are at Dolphin Research Center 58901 Overseas Highway
