Keeping your kids busy can take a little creativity and planning. Winter can be a long season when its too cold to play outside. Finding fun, entertaining winter activities for the kids to do indoors seems like the most logical option. Here are the best indoor activities that will keep
your kids busy through the rough weather winter brings.

There are many winter activities for the kids to do and most can be adapted to the various age groups. From crafts, to board games, winter games and puzzles, coloring pages, printouts from your computer, winter recipes, Christmas crafts, educational activities based around winter, writing winter stories or reading.

Winter activities can be fun for all the family to participate in. Have a day or so cooking and getting ready for the festive season. Kids love to cook and bake cookies and cakes. Why not create special tasks or mini competitions between family members for added fun. Make play dough with the younger kids. This will give them hours of enjoyment; just give them a few cookie cutters and a rolling pin and their away. To make your own homemade dough you can mix 2 parts flour to 1 part salt and just enough water to make the dough unsticky.

There are heaps of winter activity suggestions on the internet, a lot of games kids can download and then make with items from around the house. A very easy and cheap option for entertainment kids will love, as making a game is half the fun.

Print off some winter activities like crosswords, findawords, puzzles and stories to provide a bit of a challenge or when you just want some quiet time. Kids love challenges and the silence of them working away gives you a rest of the constant chattering. Younger kids might enjoy such winter activities like winter drawings to color in.

Scrapbooking or card making is another great winter activity to keep your child busy and happy. With the festive season just around the corner, scrapbooking Christmas gifts for family or friends are a fantastic way to wallowing the hours away on something productive. Have the kids make your Christmas cards or decorations, they will save you a lot of time and money in the long run.
