Marching Through the Parade of Homes

2
....Two, Three, Four.....March, march, left, right, left.....Sounds like either the army or a parade, right? It was a parade. The Parade of Homes for the Greater Wichita (KS) area.

My significant other and I ventured out Sunday for the last day of The Parade of Homes. Knowing that next Spring we would most likely be buying, we thought we would view some homes to see which area we wanted to live, the different floor plans, and what homes we could actually afford. We knew of some definites....on a pond, Haysville (KS) schools location, and not in a neighborhood where you could actually jump from roof to roof.

We started out in a neighborhood we had both been eyeing. New homes on a pond, located not far from where we are currently residing. The neighborhood actually was in Derby, KS, but it was so close to Haysville city limits, I never would have guessed it was in Derby. We pulled into The Riviera and parked. The first home we started at was AMAZING!!! Located on a "lake" (more like a pond, but whatever...right?), it was just what I wanted. This 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home....I had found my dream home! The rooms were HUGE! The hearth room was very spacious and excellent for entertaining guests. The kitchen was nice and large just like I wanted. Given I am not much of a chef in the kitchen, I like a large kitchen. It had a granite counter top island with wood floors, built in china hutch and breakfast area. Plenty of space for entertaining. Easily four or five people could move around in this room without stepping on one another. There were also amazing views of the lake from the kitchen/breakfast area. The master bedroom was magnificant with a master bath to die for. Soaker tub and seperate shower, double sink vanity. Oh, don't forget the closet! HUGE walk-in closet. A woman's dream closet! Need I say more? The additional two bedrooms on the main level were nice and spacious with plenty of closet space and beautiful views of the lake. There was also a general bathroom on the main level as well.
