2009 NFL Week 8 Predictions

12
Week 8 in the 2009 NFL season will feature some entertaining matchups. Which contest will be the most intriguing? Denver at Baltimore? Minnesota at Green Bay? Atlanta at New Orleans? St. Louis at Detroit? Well maybe not that last matchup, but overall the week looks fun.

Along with tough NFL games come difficult predictions. Last week I went 10-3 and came very close on many of the scores. I hope to do the same this week. Here are your NFL 2009 Week 8 predictions:

Denver 24, Baltimore 20: Each week sports analysts choose the Broncos to lose. Each week Denver surprises the NFL. It's hard not to pick them this week. Both teams are coming off of a bye week and the Ravens are at home but Denver's D is just too much to overcome. At the same time the offense is respectable and Baltimore's defense has been faltering.

Houston 21, Buffalo 17: Both teams have a two game win streak on their hands but the Texans have played tougher opponents. Statistically the Texans have a better offense and defense than the Bills but Houston is so inconsistent you never know what you are going to get.

NY Giants 21, Philadelphia 14: With the injuries in Week 7 there is no telling what this game will hold for the Eagles. After a couple of hard weeks for the Giants they are due for a game most know they are capable of.

NY Jets 31, Miami 28: The Dolphins showed how vulnerable they are to a capable offense in their loss to New Orleans. The Jets are coming off of a confidence booster in Oakland. This game might come down to a final possession with the Jets' offense pulling it out.

Indianapolis 35, San Francisco 17: Changing quarterbacks won't help the 49ers' anemic offense. There is a reason Shaun Hill beat out Alex Smith for the starting QB job in the preseason. Smith just isn't that good! The Colts posted 42 points on the Rams last week and will look to give San Francisco a similar show.

Chicago 42, Cleveland 6: The Browns are near the bottom in almost all major statistical categories. The Bears haven't quite lived up to expectations in the last couple of weeks but should finally come away with a victory this week. This is a surefire win for Chicago.
