Sex-Appeal Versus Smart-Appeal
What is the Difference and What is More Attractive
Sexiness is easy to identify, but it is hard to define. It is probably easier to pinpoint what sexiness is not; being sexy is not limited to curves and revealing attire and is not just knowing how to flirt or to engage in languorous body movements. It is not the exclusive right of the young and beautiful either.Sexiness probably has more to do with a certain form of energy transmitted to others without a deliberate intention of provoking an immediate reaction of being pursuit.
The sex-appeal part of the equation may turn heads and it may attract attention for the wrong reasons; it may be the ideal look for some women who do not mind being judged unilaterally.
Among others Marilyn Monroe, Madonna and Pamela Anderson come to mind. They became sex-symbols and there is no much flattery implied in such label. It becomes almost impossible to get rid of, although Sophia Loren did it and so did Brigitte Bardot when their talent and passion for their profession overcame their provocative beauty and physical appearance.
The sex-appeal of sex-symbols is closer to vulgarity rather than sexiness. It is also a quality that will fade with the passing of time.
In the other hand, smart-appeal is a more complex part of the equation that defines sexiness in a much larger aspect and with much more finesse. It is the magnetic power that endures time and circumstances.
In this case, the irresistible appeal comes from self-confidence and a deep felt, reassuring sense of worthiness. It is that inner energy that lights up the eyes and brightens the smile.
Smart-appeal, in most cases, is determined by a consuming passion for something or someone other than self.
It is the case of Oprah whose life is all about influencing people and bettering their odds for successful lives.
It is the case of Angelina Jolie and her dedication for saving the lives of unprivileged children, whether through direct adoption or substantial donation in their behalf.
It is the passion of Brigitte Bardot who became an animal rights activist.
