Toddlers have just started walking months ago and they are full of energy and life. The best thing you can do is take your child outdoors and you will see that they get worn out very quickly, this also makes it easier to get them to sleep. You will also want to buy some toys which are challenging for your toddler. You can also buy dvds for your child. Baby Einstein makes great dvds with children, singing, dancing and hand puppets. They are about $15.00 per dvd but your child will watch them over and over again.

I would suggest buying your toddler different types of gyms to play with. Make sure there are different tunnels to crawl through or things to keep him or her amused. I would buy a play tunnel from Toys R Us. They are about $40.00 but your child will love crawling through the tunnels. I would also buy different blocks that your child can stack on top of eachother. At this point your child may also love to look at books. Toys R Us has a nice supply of childrens books that you can purchase. Baby Einstein also makes a variety of different books including ones with mirrors, which children love.

You can also buy a small rocking horse for your child to ride on. My daughter absolutely loves her rocking horse. You can buy them from Toys R Us also. If your child is walking you can buy different things for him or her to push which make noise. They make vacuum cleaners and other types of things. At this point they also like to pull things around with them so I would purchase toys with strings that you can pull around. The more noise that the toys make, the better. Children love things that make noise.

Your child may also be interested in babies at this point. You can take your child to Toys R Us and show them a lifelike baby doll. My daughter walked up to one and tried to kiss it and play with it. At this point they really dont understand that this other child is not real. They love to carry the dolls around with them and sleep next to them. It's very cute and the dolls aren't very expensive either. I would also suggest buying your toddler a small instrument that makes music like a piano made for toddlers. They will love to hit the keys and make different noises.

Very unimaginative in suggesting buying items from Toys-R-Us. What about a water sprinkler to play with or making a tent by putting it over two lawn chairs for Toddlers or small kids to play in. Nothing beats a good dirt pile to play in. I know the kids will get dirty but hey they will wash up in the tub. I have been known to hose mine down before they come into the house. Kids also love to dig and make water holes along with the mud. The best items are not always purchased from the toy store. Take the tiem to teach your kids to be imaginative and creative not to take the simple way out and buy a toy.
