Summer is almost here and there are many things you can do outdoors which are absolutely free. Take the family and get outdoors and enjoy the good weather. If there is a local zoo you can plan a trip to go there on a nice day. Some zoos are free, you can check out the zoos website online and see if they charge you a fee to enter the zoo. You can also look up things to do in your state or area. Print out a list of places to go such as museums or gardens. You could also take the bikes and go for a bike ride on a trail that is close to your home.

You could go rollerblading, jogging, running or walking close by your home. You could take the kids outside a play a round of crochet with the whole family. Perhaps you have a volleyball net and you can play a game of volleyball or badmitten. There are a lot of games and other things you can play while you are outdoors. If you don't have the money to purchase a crochet set or volleyball net you could think up your own game. If you have a big yard that isn't dangerous you could play a game of duck duck goose or tag with the children. Make sure there aren't any things that people could trip over or hurt themselves on.

Another thing you could do is grab the fishing poles and go fishing. Children over the age of 16 will be required to have fishing license which you can buy from Gander Mountain or a bait shop. Make sure you have fishing licenses for everybody that is fishing. Fishing is completely free if you have fishing poles and a tackle box. You do not have to keep the fish, you can let them go. You can use plastic lures or you can use real bait such as minnows or worms. If you do not feel comfortable putting live bait on you can use a plastic worm or other artificial lures.

You could also take your friends or family down to your local river or lake and feed the birds. Be careful that there aren't any signs that tell you not to feed the birds. In some areas it's illegal to feed the birds on private property. It's fun to do but you may have to do a little bit of research before you go and buy a loaf of bread. Fishing is legal however and it's fun to do. You can also get a nice tan while you are outdoors, just make sure that the kids are loaded up on sunblock.

Great ideas! But "crochet" is something you do with a hook and yarn; "croquet" is a game which involves hitting balls with mallets.
