Jeanne and Michael Merrill Tragically Killed: Leave Four Daughters Orphaned
Victims of Careening Car
ABC News has posted a very sad story regarding the deaths of Jeanne and Mike Merrill. Jeanne and Mike Merrill are the parents of four girls. Jeanne and Mike Merrill were killed in a traffic accident and have left the girls orphans.ABC News out of Fairfax Station, Virginia, tells us that Jeanne Merrill, 42, and Mike Merrill, 47, was travelling on the highway. They had three of their four girls with them riding in the back seat. The ages of the girls are 13-years-old, 3-years-old and 18-months. In addition they had a daughter aged 9 at a friend's house.
The Merrill family had gone out of town to get carryout food and they were returning home. The details of the tragic accident seem to be that a person on the Merrill's side of the highway lost control of their vehicle and hit the Merrill's car. This caused their car to across the highway and hit a pickup truck.
The parents were pronounced dead at the scene. The only good news beside the survival of the girls is that Jeanne has a sister who can see that the orphaned children can be taken care of in the future.
According to her Jeanne and Michael were wonderful parents.
For several years before being moved into the home office I sold life insurance.
Since I was in my late 20s, many of the people that I sold to were in their 20s as well. The most common argument I got for buying life insurance was "I'm too young to die."
For the several years I was "in the field," I had several clients die. Three that I remember the most vividly were 28-years-old, 29-years-old and 38-years-old. No one woke up the day they died and thought that this was "their day."
I was happy that I was able to give widows money along with condolences.
When we read about a tragedy like this, in addition to keeping those little girls in our thoughts and prayers, we should take a look at our situation to make sure should out "time come," our won't have to suffer in any other way than grieving the loss.
