Merchants all along the popular Camp Bowie Boulevard will participate in the event whose purpose is to increase awareness of the street as a popular shopping destination complete with boutiques and a wide variety of restaurants.
One such establishment is Lucille's where all the portions are huge.
Another infamous one, the former Rick's on the Bricks that I really miss, is now a beer factory/restaurant/bar.
The event kicks off July 12th at 10 a.m. and runs through July 14th when stores and restaurants close. The Crawl features over 40 cafes and shops.
"My business during The Crawl last year was terrific and we generated lots of new sales," said Goldwaves Salon Co-Owner Leslie Rice.
The salon at 5137 El Campo will be open 5-7 p.m. July 13th.
Mix 102.9 Radio will hold live remote block parties and the Rebecca Low Gallery will be open 10 a.m. to noon July 14th. The facility is located at 7608 Camp Bowie West.

In other local news, the Third Annual Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism's Writer's Conference will be held July 27-29 in Grapevine, about 30 minutes from Fort Worth. The location is the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center, 1800 Highway 26 N. Speakers this year include Joyce Carol Oates, Mary Roach, Bill Nack, Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, Burkhard Bilger, and others.
The event, which is presented by WRR Classical 101.1 FM Radio, is also featuring a writing contest with a deadline of June 15th. A panel of judges will choose the top 50 authors of a narrative article or essay submission and the top 20 manuscript submissions to participate in the conference workshops July 27th.
Sponsors of the conference include the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hearst Corporation, The Writer's Garret, and numerous others.
