Although you may be locked inside your own home in the broad daylight, you're not always as safe as you think. The world is coming to something so sad, that you have to watch what you say and do no matter who your with, or where you are. As long as your on the internet, your life is in as much danger as it is walking down a pitch black alley at 1 a.m.
Online predators: Pathetic people online, looking to find and/or hurt young adults and children.
I've realize how much of a serious matter it really is ever since I recieved an informative letter from my city. The letter made everything sound so much more life-like and likely to happen to anyone, and I mean anyone, that you could think of: A cousin, sister, brother, neighbor, neice or even younger adults. So the truth is that in only 8 minutes and just a few sentences of personal information about yourself, you could searched, found, and ... who-knows-what, by someone you've never glimpsed at before in your life.
As you sit there and blab up a storm about your life, just hoping that he might fall in love with you, the supposedly 'Prince Charming' that you've met in an online chatroom, it would never even cross your mind that the picture on his profile was a random man at a park that he snapped a shot of..and that the real "Hot_Guy_101" was 53 year old man.
If your always out and about on the internet, here are some safe, cool ways to protect your personal information and keep stranger danger out of any type of online situation:

Takeaways
  • Keep your personal information on the down-low when online. It's YOUR information, right?
  • It's dangerous to be so open with strangers that you don't even know his/her name!
  • Let others know about the internet, and how it's okay to use, but it needs to be used correctly.

Well done! Great advice that will probably save some young person's life one day. This is true even when you are an adult. I make up names for everything I do on the web. That is part of the fun - you can be someone else and act up a storm.

Great article, sweetie! It shows that you are a brave, smart girl to set such a great example and know so well, like Donna said. Keep it up, Cazzy!

It's also important to remember that even people who are not that much older than you can be dangerous too. Good article, Cazzy.
