Looking to plan a bridal shower soon? Not sure where to start? Following are some great suggestions that will help you plan the perfect bash that everyone will be talking about for months.

Surf the Web

The web is a great way to get information on any subject you want, and bridal showers are no exception. Go to any search engine, punch in 'bridal showers' or 'bridal shower planning' and you'll get tons of sites to choose from. These websites offer a wide array of resources including activity ideas, drink recipes and music suggestions. Try finding a website with a party planning tool as this resource will prove to be very helpful. This feature allows you to estimate your budget, create a checklist for everything you need to buy and do, and much more.

Send e-invitations

Invitations should be where you spend the least amount of money planning a bridal shower, and there are plenty of ways to penny-pinch in this area. Sending e-invitations will not only save you money on paper invitations and postage, you'll also save yourself a lot of time and effort. You can create your own by using an invitation software (if you have one) or Microsoft word. Also, most bridal shower websites offer the ability to make and send your own e-invitations for free.

Pick a Creative Theme

The theme of your shower is what sets the whole thing off and can mean the difference between a successful party or a total bust. Try choosing a theme that corresponds to not only the bride's tastes, but your other guests as well. While it's most important for the bride to enjoy her party, you also want everyone else to have a good time too. Not sure what theme to go with? Get online and do a search. Some great themes that I found were the lingerie shower, the kitchen shower and the gift basket shower. Remember when picking your theme to be creative and unique. I guarantee that your guests will love the fact that your shower stands out from the traditional showers most people are used to.

Plan the Menu Around Your Theme

Takeaways
  • Find a website with a party planning tool
  • Plan the menu around your theme
  • Choose fun and simple games

This article has some great ideas. E-invites don't sit too well with me though. I guess I'm more old-fashioned.
