The Worlds Weirdest Sports

The world is just FULL of weird people, and odd ideas. These sports you are about to see are the results of these people, pushing our society one step closer to nothing.

The Cheese Roll

To begin, the concept itself seems quite simple: roll the cheese down a hill, and catch it. However this is not as easy as it sounds. The round piece of Double Gloucester Cheese is rolled down the hill and the object of the game is to beat the cheese to the finish line at the bottom. This, however, is no easy feat that being because the cheese has been known to reach speeds exceeding 110km/h!

Octopush

If I had to bet, I would say you've never heard of this before. In this game there are two teams, both in a swimming pool, are trying to push a puck into two goals underwater. It's a game similar to Hockey except played In the bottom of a pool, and its catching on in New Zealand.

Bog Snorkeling

Definitely on the odder side of the spectrum, (as most weird sports tend to be) this game is generally what you think it would be. Competitors are allowed only allowed to wear snorkels and flippers and must swim through a water filled trench cut through a peat bog. Swimmers are not allowed to use competitive swimming strokes, they must swim only using their flippers. As odd as it sounds, the World Bog Snorkeling Championships are held every august bank holiday around Llanwrtyd Wells in Whales.

Man vs Horse

If you were expecting some one on one brawl with a human against a steed, then you'd be wrong. But what this sport does do, is cause you to question the education system of Whales, because it just so happens to have originated from the same town, Llanwrtyd Wells. This is a cross country marathon between a horse and an ordinary person. A great amount of running experience and practice is required for such an extreme race.

I hope you've enjoyed reading the article. I have only scratched the surface of all the weirdest of the weird in the sports world.
