Paris Hilton: Sentenced To Jail

Paris Hilton was sentenced to jail for 45 days. She could have gotten 90 days. Paris Hilton has until June 5, 2007 to report. She will not be receiving any work release time.

Cathy Hilton, Paris Hilton's mother, was outraged that her daughter was sentenced to jail. She said it was a waste of tax payer's money. Her Attorney said that, he was shocked and disappointed. The sentence was uncalled for.

Paris Hilton was on probation for an alcoholic related conviction, this was the second time that Ms. Hilton was stopped for driving with a suspended license. She was also driving recklessly. Hilton said she didn't know that she could not drive with a suspended license. Does she know what suspended means? It's very clear cut. It's very simple, if your license is suspended, you can't drive.

Some made the statement that Ms. Hilton was singled out because of who she is. Paris Hilton was not singled out. She was stopped twice for driving with a suspended license. The last time Ms. Hilton was stopped, she was speeding with her head lights turned off.

She was given so many chances, she chose to ignore them. She didn't follow any of the court's orders when she was given probation. She didn't go to a 12 hours substance abuse course. She didn't do her community services. She didn't stay from behind the wheels.

Nobody is waiting for Paris Hilton to go to Jail. No matter who you are, you should not drive and drink. You should not be driving recklessly with a suspended license.

I was so shocked at the statements made by Paris Hilton's mother and her attorney. That is not the message we want to send to other young drivers out there. We don't want young drivers to think its okay to drive with a suspended license. We don't want them to think that it's okay to drink and drive.

to throw her in jail with criminals and other people, regular ordinary people, that are there maybe for the same reason as is probably unusual to her and to what she is accustom to but that doesn't mean that the consequence of breaking the law should go unpunished.

I think that it is about time someone "goes to jail" even though they are famous. What does fame have to do with not following the law? Shes so stupid, she could have killed someone. Shes immature and I hope this gets some sense into her stupid head.

First, she violated the first rule of being in front of a judge...don't try to make him look stupid..be polite..and second, don't let your mom mouth off..that hits to what you are saying, John...there may be an "off with her head" mentality because far too many of the very wealthy say "let them eat cake" to the rest of the world..

I believe there is a residual envy and anger many hold close to their hearts against the rich, most especially if the rich concerned have not earned the wealth themselves. I sense in many comments, not all, a combination of envy laced with vengeance - as in, "one of THEM finally got NAILED, just like us ordinary folks..." I also read, frequently, a theme of, "I hope her jail is mean and nasty, and that she gets treated rough..." Here, again, I sense this deep anger, a kind of "off with her head" mentality. This is a young, physically attractive, fabulously rich and not-too-intelligent young pricess. To throw her in with hardened criminals, violent, controlling or only semi-sane would, under the Constitution, actuall be cruel and unusual, would it not?
