Renaissance Fairs in New Mexico

Attention noble knights and fine ladies! The king commands you to attend a renaissance fair! And there are a number that occur in New Mexico.

Cloudcroft Renaissance Fantasy Faire - This fair will be held approximately 130 miles south of Alamogordo in Cloudcroft, New Mexico the weekend of June 30^th - July 1^st from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Parking and admission will be free. Those who will attend dressed in period attire must keep blades sheathed and peace-tied. Alcohol will only be allowed in the Alehouse. The local Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) branch, The Citadel of the Southern Pass, will be providing astonishing swordplay demonstration; and there will be exciting jousting tournaments. Special events will include costume contests and the knights' tug-of-war. Bagpipe music and singing will delight visitors as they wander the fair sampling turkey legs and drinks. Vendors will entice attendees with their finely crafted clothing, art, jewelry, and more. Farmington Renaissance Faire - This fair will be held approximately 125 miles north of Gallup in Farmington, New Mexico the weekend of October 20^th - 21^st from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Saturday and 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Sunday. Admission will be free. No alcohol will be sold or permitted. Attendees in costume will be required to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Highlights will include educational demonstrations of archery, bookbinding, court dancing, and more by the Society of Creative Anachronism. Castle Wall Productions will provide thrilling live sword fighting. Various entertainers will delight visitors with Celtic music, juggling, and belly dancing.
