Chelsea V Manchester United Preview - English Premier League Sunday 8 November
This week's fixture list in the English Premier League sees the biggest game of the season so far with first against second, as Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea as reported on BBC Sport Football. Both these teams have been in good form this season, with Chelsea in particular playing some fantastic attacking football in their last few games. This should hopefully make for a classic match, as the top of the table is up for grabs with the team that wins this game claiming it.
Chelsea currently lead the Premier League with 27 points from 11 games played and Manchester United are chasing hard in second place only two points behind them. These two teams have dominated the Premier League this year so far and this has also been the case in the last 5 years. During this time Chelsea have won the league twice, with Manchester United taking this honor 3 times.
As their league position shows, both teams have started the current season in strong fashion and both teams are playing well. Chelsea in the last few weeks has been the form team in England with both attack and defence hitting top form. In their last four league and cup games they have scored 17 goals and conceded none, which is irresistible form and they will be looking to keep this going.
Manchester United's form on the other hand has not quite matched Chelsea in recent games, although they are keeping pace with them in league. They suffered a defeat at the hands of their bitter rivals Liverpool which knocked them of the top of the table a couple of weeks ago, although in other games they have played well enough to pick up points.
