How Alternative Therapy Saved Doc's Life

It was one of those strange January nights. You know, the ones where it is actually warm enough for it to rain and not snow. Even with this tiny bit of warmth in the air it was raw and cool outside. Probably hovering around 40 or so. Other then this unusual warmth it was a pretty normal night. I was driving home at 1am, doing around 65, headed up I93 North from work in Tilton New Hampshire. The drizzle hitting the windshield and the sound of the windshield wipers were my only companions in the dark interior of the grey 1985 Buick Skylark.

However, this night was about to be anything but normal. In fact, this night was about to change my life forever. As I rounded the corner, just past the Ashland 1 mile sign, a herd of deer scooted out onto the wet, black pavement. Thinking I could simply enter the passing lane and then re-enter into the slow lane just on the other side of them, like passing a car, I pulled to the left, slightly applying the brakes as I did so. As my tires hit the pavement of the passing lane the car began to pull drastically to the left. To my horror I realized that I was hydroplaning on the wet pavement below my tires. Before I could respond to my dilemma the car careened onto the island between the North and Southbound lanes. I screamed as I realized I was heading right into oncoming traffic and had no control of my car whatsoever. Thoughts of my baby girl whirled through my head as I screamed over and over, "God no!!!!!!!!!!!" That is when everything went black. This is also when a miracle happened.
