The Future of Google

What Will Happen to Google?

2
Where will Google be in 2015, is the big question today. Google is a powerhouse and many are worried that it has reached its peak and will eventually start to fall like other big companies such as Microsoft and At&t. Andrew Keen of the telegraph recently wrote an article online about where Google will be in 2015 and referenced a new book called, "Googled: The End of the World as We Know it" by Ken Auletta. Keen states the book talks about external factors that could bring Google to its knees such as other companies lining up against Google such as Verizon and the American Government. This is where Auletta is wrong; Verizon and the Government are not lining up against Google and in fact are actually turning toward Google.

Anyone who has read any technology news should know that Verizon right now is anything but against Google and is actually changing their own business policy to be able to work with Google and their Android operating system for cell phones. Motorola has teamed up with Google to create the Droid" href="http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2344160/google_putting_down_the_hammer_on_mobile.html?cat=9" id="m9qk">Verizon with Motorola has teamed up with Google to create the Droid a new smart phone coming to the Verizon network that Verizon is hoping to use to take on At&t and Apple's Iphone. Verizon is known for being pretty closed and locking their operating systems on their phone, but now that they are teaming up with Google they are being totally open. They are allowing Android an Open Source operating system to be run on their network and it will not ship with Verizon's vznavigator or music application. Instead the Droid will come with a 100% free navigator application made by Google. Not only are they being open with the software but Verizon is also being open with allowing Google Voice to be used on their network which At&t and Apple are currently in big disagreements with Google over a Google Voice application for the Iphone. It seems Verizon is not actually against Google like Auletta states in his book.
